Elon Musk, the flamboyant U.S entrepreneur😎 has added another feather to his cap.

His company Space X has become the first private company✌️ to launch a rocket carrying humans into space.

The Details

This launch named “Demo-2,” took off from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, U.S.A.

It took aboard, NASA astronauts, Doug Hurley and Robert Behnken on a Falcon 9 rocket🚀.

They are a part of NASA’s Commercial Crew Program.

Both the astronauts👩‍🚀 docked and then entered the International Space Station on Sunday.

Big Savings ahead

The “Demo-2” launch marks the 1st time since 2011🗓️ that American astronauts have travelled to space.

The reason behind this was NASA’s decision to end its own space shuttle program, due to the lack of funding☹️ from the U.S govt.

Throughout this period, the U.S. has been paying Russia over $80 million😳 for each of its astronaut to fly to the International Space Station.

But now, the NASA’s collaboration🤝 with SpaceX will bring this price significantly down to about $55 million.

About SpaceX

Elon Musk founded SpaceX in 2002.

His primary aim was to cut down⤵️ the cost of launching space missions👍.

He is also keen to see humans getting to Mars and making a permanent colony there for further space explorations.
