She has also twice served as California’s Attorney General.

Kamala’s late mother Shyamala Gopalan, a cancer researcher👩🏻‍⚕️ hailed from Chennai.

She raised Kamala along with her younger daughter Maya as a single-mother after early divorce🚫 from husband Donald Harris, who had come to the US from Jamaica.

Kamala is also the first major female black person and only the third woman so far to run for the office of the U.S Vice President.

Road to the top job!

Presently, Kamala Harris is one of Democratic Party’s most prominent figures.

If she and Biden go on to win✌️ the 2020 polls, Kamala could well be the Presidential candidate at the end of Biden’s first term in 2024🗓️ or the second one in 2028.

Significantly, most vice-presidents have gone on to run for the top job themselves and win🎊, apart from some exceptions.
